Students participating in this workshop will have the wonderful opportunity to try their hands at some theatre games, improv, and acting exercises. Everyone will participate in this exciting exploration without feeling put on the spot. The workshop will begin with some fun and inviting warm-up games that gradually build their way to more challenging improvisations.
Ingrid Schaeffer, workshop leader, is Chair of the Theatre Department at ACES Educational Center for the Arts. She also is the director of her own private Creative Dramatics Program InterAct Summer Theatre for children ages 7-15 years. She is a member of Actor’s Equity, The American Alliance for Theatre in Education, and The American Theatre Association. She is the recipient of the Excellence for Teaching Theatre Award from Long Wharf Theatre and the recipient of two fellowships-one at Lincoln Center and one at the International Michael Chekhov Institute.
