Join us for a celebration of African American music in honor of Juneteenth! In this one-of-a-kind program, percussionist Inara Ramin will explore the history of African drumming in Connecticut, beginning with the West African music scene of Hartford in the 1970s and leading up to the present day. He will intersperse spoken history with live performance, showcasing the many different styles of drumming that have taken on their own local flavor. Accompanied by Brian "Jawara" Gray, Mr. Ramin will take you on an unforgettable musical journey spanning over 50 years.
