Program Description

Event Details

Join us for a unique celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Everyone has a culture, whether it's through recipes, traditions, costumes, or heirlooms passed from one generation to the next. P.E.A.C.E. (Powerful Experiences for Art & Cultural Exchange, Inc.) will lead an interactive presentation on Eastern cultures through its collection of authentic Asian dolls, which will be featured in the library's display cases throughout May. Each doll is from a different Asian nation and represents its unique history of dance, dress, food, and craft. They also serve as a window into women's lives and the roles they play in their respective societies.  This talk will foster a deeper understanding of the rich tapestry of traditions that make up our world. Additionally, attendees will receive a template & instructions for creating their own paper lantern at home!
