Passports to CT Libraries

From April 1- April 30, 2026, the Connecticut Library Assocation invites you to visit all of the participating Connecticut public libraries in its Passports to CT Libraries program! Each library has its own architecture, vibe, and collection to explore and browse. The program is open to adults and children, and the hope is that it encourages residents to explore the amazing diversity of our public libraries.

To begin, visit the Wallingford Public Library to pick up your Passport. We will stamp it and give you a small gift to get you started. Then, take your Passport along as you visit other participating libraries. At each visit, show your Passport; the library will stamp your Passport and may give you another small gift. (Please note: not all CT libraries are participating and not all participating locations are giving gifts! Please be kind to library staff.)

If you visit at least 5 participating libraries, return your Passport to us by May 11, 2026.

CLA will be giving away a total of SIX $200 gift cards, one for adults and one for children in each category. There is a NEW category this year: visit at least 25 libraries! More information below.

Category one: each participant who visits at least five libraries and has the corresponding stamps (and returns their passport to a participating library by the deadline) will earn an entry into that library's drawing. The winners from each library will be sent to the Public Libraries Section. There will be a final "all libraries" drawing among the contestants who have visited at least five libraries. The prizes will be awarded to the adult and child who visited at least five libraries, winners selected via random drawing.

Category two: each library will select the adult and the child who have visited the most libraries for submission to the Public Libraries Section. There will be a final "all libraries" selection (not a drawing) among the contestants who have visited the most libraries. The prizes will be awarded to the adult and child who each visited the most libraries. In case of a tie, the winner will be selected via random drawing.

Category three: THIS IS A NEW CATEGORY. Similar to category one/at least five libraries visited, each participant who visits at least twenty-five (25) libraries and has the corresponding stamps (and returns their passport to a participating library by the deadline) will earn an entry into that library's drawing. The winners from each library will be sent to the Public Libraries Section. There will be a final "all libraries" drawing among the contestants who have visited at least twenty-five (25) libraries. The prizes will be awarded to the adult and child who visited at least twenty-five (25) libraries, winners selected via random drawing.
