IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL PROGRAM

The Ubuntu Storytellers, an ensemble of performance artists from across the Diaspora, are joined by guests who will tell personal stories of allyship.

Which side are you on? That’s the question that every single person in Connecticut had to answer in 1775, as the thirteen colonies began a rebellion against British rule. Loyalty was not only a matter of words or opinion.

Founded in 1987 and housed within The Wadsworth Atheneum, the Amistad Center was inspired by the historical Amistad ship, whose African captives famously revolted for their freedom in 1839.
